While autumn can be an extremely beautiful time of year, chances are good that the leaves in your yard are not nearly as beautiful as the picture attached to this post. While it’s true that raking up dead leaves does contribute to the good appearance of your lawn, there are far more important reasons to keep your lawn clear of leaves.
For one, having a lawn covered with leaves is bad for your grass. Even during autumn, photosynthesis is in full effect for your grass, and leaves can easily block the vital sunlight from doing its’ thing. Additionally, once winter comes and the snow falls, moisture can get trapped in those leaves, leading to mold growth and suffocation of the grass.
For those and other reasons, it’s important to keep your lawn clear of excessive leaf cover during autumn. If you don’t want to do this by hand, there are plenty of motorized lawn care tools that can help!
