If you’re working from home, would you say your routine is a lot different than it used to be? For some, a quick stop at a coffee shop on the way to work has turned into buying their own nice espresso machine. For others, a mid-afternoon snack in the break room has turned into pushing the kids on their brand new swing set.
For most people working from home, there have been some unexpected purchases or expenses – some of which are wants, but most of which are needs. These have been things that are typically just considered “overhead” expenses for many businesses that had employees working in a shared office space.
In addition to taking on some of these expenses, you may want to also consider the effect that working from home has had on your property. Are your finishes more worn now? Have your utility bills gone up? If so, it may be a good idea to think about ways to counteract the added expense and usage.
